Workplace Literacy

MORE partners with local employers to hold workplace English classes on-site to benefit both employees and employers. We equip staff with essential skills tailored to their workplace, such as completing inspection forms or understanding safety protocols. This approach not only empowers employees with new skills and improves retention, but also enhances workplace safety and productivity.

On-Site Education
MORE takes the classroom to the students. By holding classes on-site at the employer’s location, we eliminate significant barriers such as transportation challenges and make participation more accessible.

Customized Curriculum
MORE develops customized curriculum that is designed for the specific needs of the workplace and the employees, providing job- specific competencies. This customization ensures that learning is relevant and directly beneficial to both the employees and the employers.

Strategic Partnerships
By partnering with local employers such as Bix Produce Co. and Intek Plastics, MORE creates a synergistic relationship that benefits all parties involved. Employers gain a more skilled and confident workforce, while employees receive education and training that can enhance their job performance and career prospects.

Sustainable Impact
As employees gain new skills and confidence, they are better positioned to contribute to their communities, pursue further education, and achieve economic stability. This ripple effect promotes a more educated and empowered community, fostering long-term social and economic benefits. The outcome is best stated by a Bix representative: "Our students appreciate the opportunity to learn and grow and really like the classes. As a company, we have seen team members grow into higher positions and be more comfortable using their English skills in the workplace from having conversations with their supervisors to paperwork to helping others. I believe the program has been successful and appreciate our partnership with MORE."
